What is Functional Lab Testing?

Conventional laboratory reference ranges are designed to identify and diagnose disease states and pathology. People who fall within the reference range are assumed to have no clinical signs and symptoms of any disease and are considered “normal”.

Have you gone to the doctor and they look at your labs only to tell you that you’re normal but you don’t “feel” normal? You have brain fog maybe or you’re just not feeling yourself – you’re off?

Functional blood chemistry looks at optimal numbers and it’s used as a prognostic indicator for potential nutritional and/or metabolic imbalances. In this manner, we are able to establish a preventive health plan to correct those imbalances or to identify dysfunction in normal physiology.

As a Clinical Herbalist and Holistic Wellness Professional, I am able to take all subjective and objective information to formulate a protocol that will help you achieve optimal wellness. I do not treat or diagnose. I am merely a detective of sorts with your blood. I also am not a phlebotomist; therefore, I do not perform blood draws. You can either bring your current blood results to me which can be evaluated from the functional perspective or you can go to the lab I have partnered with to have your blood drawn at a lab conveniently located to you.
